YWCA Tribute Event 2008

Greater Grand Rapids Realtor Cheryl Grant is a Premier Sponsor of the 2008 YWCA Tribute Awards Event. The Tribute event, which honors the extraordinary efforts of women in our community, also brings attention to the critical issues affecting local women and their families today. The revenue generated by the Tribute award event directly supports the work of the West Central Michigan YWCA. http://www.ywcawcmi.org

“The YWCA Tribute Premier sponsors, which Cheryl Grant is once again this year, play a vital role in the Y’s success,” said Kelli Langan, Director of Development for the YWCA. “By underwriting most of the expenses associated with the celebration, the sponsors helping to ensure that more than $75,000 will go directly to services aimed at helping girls learn to be ‘strong, smart & bold’, and caring for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child sexual abuse.”  This year’s event has exceeded goals. This is especially important in light of the economic stress Michigan is under. “It’s heartening to see an individual make such a significant contribution that will literally help thousands of women and children move forward with their lives,” said Langan. “This kind of commitment and investment in our vision helps keep the lights on and provides the ability to deliver top-level therapeutic intervention for families in need.” This is the second year Realtor Cheryl Grant has sponsored the event at the Premier level. Steelcase is the only other Premier sponsor. http://www.steelcase.com/na/ “Cheryl’s involvement in the YWCA’s Tribute Award is a perfect example of the dedication and hard work she applies to all areas of her life. Her positive attitude and her strength continually inspires me and others. These prestigious awards couldn’t be more important in our community because they give women the recognition that they so deserve. The YWCA is fortunate to have Cheryl on our team,” states Linda LaFontsee, owner of LaFontsee Galleries and member of the 2008 Tribute Selection Committee. http://www.lafontsee.us/

According to Cheryl, “It’s a tough time for those of us in the housing market, but it’s an even tougher time for those fighting domestic abuse. That’s why giving in these times and at this level is something I feel strongly about and would encourage others to do as well.”  For all your residential real estate needs in the Grand Rapids area, please contact Cheryl Grant at (616) 822-3206 or visit her website at http://www.CherylGrant.com
